A number of people have suggested I include more writing about my work. I'm reluctant to do this for a couple reasons: First, I don't want my Website to be a blog—there is already way too much written about art. Second, I'd rather encourage the viewer to look and make up their own meaning. I know this can take time, so just choose a few pictures to enlarge and spend a little while with them. Several months ago I began volunteering two days a week as a teacher and teacher's aide at a youth detention center. It is quite an emotional experience as well as very rewarding one, working with young men and women to turn their lives around. As you might gather from the above picture, many of them feel safer in jail than at home.
